Membership Terms, Community Rules & Safety Agreement

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Matured Matchmaking.

Matured Matchmaking primarily serves mature adults seeking genuine relationships. Individual programs or matchmaking packages may have additional eligibility criteria.

By registering, you confirm that:

• you are at least 18 years old;
• the information you provide is substantially accurate;
• you are using the service for genuine matchmaking or relationship purposes;
• you will not impersonate another person;
• you will not knowingly submit fraudulent identification;
• you will not use another person's photographs without authorization; and
• you will comply with these Terms and our community standards.

2. Identity Verification

We may require identity verification before activating an account, introducing a member to another member or providing certain services.

Failure or refusal to complete required verification may result in an account remaining inactive or services not being provided.

Successful identity verification does not constitute a background check or endorsement of a member.

3. Truthful Information

Members are expected to provide honest and reasonably accurate information.

Members must not intentionally misrepresent important information for the purpose of deceiving potential matches.

Matured Matchmaking may suspend or terminate an account where we reasonably believe that information or identification has been falsified or the service is being used fraudulently.

4. Our Matchmaking Service

Matured Matchmaking provides introductions, matchmaking support and related services according to the package or service purchased.

Compatibility is subjective.

We cannot guarantee:

• that a particular person will accept an introduction;
• that two members will be compatible;
• that communication will continue after an introduction;
• that a date will occur;
• that a relationship will develop;
• engagement or marriage; or
• any particular romantic outcome.

Any specific number of introductions, service period or other deliverable included in a paid package will be described separately in the applicable service agreement.

5. Member Responsibility

Members remain responsible for deciding:

• who they communicate with;
• whether to meet someone;
• when and where to meet;
• what personal information to disclose;
• whether to continue a relationship; and
• whether another member is suitable for them.

Matured Matchmaking does not make personal relationship decisions on behalf of members.

6. Dating Safety

We strongly encourage members to:

• have initial meetings in public places;
• tell a trusted friend or relative where they are going;
• arrange their own transportation where possible;
• avoid immediately sharing a home address;
• avoid sending money to someone they have recently met;
• never provide banking passwords, PINs or verification codes;
• be cautious about investment, cryptocurrency, business or emergency-money requests;
• report suspicious behaviour to us; and
• contact emergency services where there is an immediate threat to personal safety.

7. Financial Requests and Romance Scams

Members must not use Matured Matchmaking to solicit money, investments, loans, gifts, cryptocurrency or financial assistance through deception or manipulation.

Matured Matchmaking may suspend or terminate accounts reasonably suspected of scams, fraud or financial exploitation.

Members should independently investigate financial requests and should never interpret identity verification as financial or character verification.

8. Harassment and Abuse

Members must not engage in:

• threats;
• stalking;
• harassment;
• intimidation;
• hate-based abuse;
• sexual harassment;
• non-consensual sexual conduct;
• blackmail or extortion;
• impersonation;
• fraud; or
• repeated unwanted contact after another person has clearly requested that communication stop.

We reserve the right to restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect our community or enforce these Terms.

9. Background Checks

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, Matured Matchmaking does not represent that it conducts criminal-record checks, credit checks, employment checks, immigration checks or comprehensive background investigations on every member.

Government-ID verification is not the same as a criminal or comprehensive background check.

10. Confidentiality Between Members

Information and photographs provided about a potential match are intended for personal matchmaking purposes.

Members must not publish, sell, distribute or post another member's private profile information, photographs, telephone number, messages or other personal information publicly without appropriate permission, except where disclosure is reasonably necessary to report suspected unlawful conduct, seek professional advice or comply with law.

11. Fees

All fees, payment schedules and services included in a package will be disclosed before purchase.

Members should review the applicable service description carefully before making payment.

12. Cancellation and Refunds

The cancellation and refund terms applicable to a purchase will be clearly disclosed before payment and will comply with applicable consumer-protection law.

Unless a separate written service agreement states otherwise, members should not assume that payment guarantees a successful match, relationship, engagement or marriage.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or limit a consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

13. Suspension and Termination

Matured Matchmaking may suspend, restrict or terminate an account where reasonably necessary because of:

• fraud or suspected fraud;
• false identification;
• impersonation;
• serious misrepresentation;
• harassment;
• threatening or abusive behaviour;
• suspected exploitation;
• violation of these Terms;
• misuse of member information; or
• conduct that creates a reasonable safety or security concern.

Where appropriate, we may investigate a complaint before making a final decision.

14. Reporting Another Member

Members are encouraged to report suspicious, abusive, fraudulent or unsafe conduct to:

Reports should include enough information for us to understand and assess the concern.

Where there is immediate danger, contact emergency services or the appropriate law-enforcement authority.

15. Limitation of Role

Matured Matchmaking facilitates introductions and provides matchmaking services.

We do not control the conduct of members outside our service and cannot guarantee the truthfulness, character, intentions or future conduct of another individual.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

16. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy & Identity Verification Policy.

17. Governing Law

Subject to any mandatory consumer rights or other applicable laws, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

18. Agreement

By completing registration or purchasing a service, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review these Terms, our Privacy Policy and the applicable service and payment information.
